THE SPOTLIGHT SCHOOL OF DANCE

COVID-19 PROTOCOL

Healthy Dancers. Happy Dancers!

On May 14, 2021, the CDC and Iowa Department of Public Health released new guidance regarding face coverings for fully vaccinated individuals.

Effective Tuesday, May 18, fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear a mask inside our dance schools. In addition, we will follow Iowa Department of Public Health guidelines in allowing unvaccinated students and guests to make their own decision regarding mask wearing.

  • Stay home when feeling ill or if exposed to someone with COVID-19. Students with two or more symptoms should stay home until 72 hours after symptoms subside or until receiving a negative COVID-19 test result. Students who arrive to dance class and experience symptoms will be sent home and asked to stay home until 72 hours after symptoms subside or until receiving a negative COVID-19 test result. Students who are required to quarantine due to an exposure at home, school, or elsewhere, should join us via Zoom until the recommended quarantine period has expired or as recommended by the CDC.

  • We expect our parents to assess children for possible COVID-19 symptoms before sending them to class. A list of current known symptoms is available at the CDC website.

  • We expect our families to notify us of any exposure or positive test result that may affect a student’s status. If we are informed of an individual who has been in one of our dance schools and has had an exposure or tested positive for COVID-19, we will notify our entire student body and staff via email. Confidentiality of the identity of the individual(s) will be respected.

  • We are fans of clean hands. Wash hands before and after class. Hand sanitizer is available in multiple locations throughout the dance school. Pack hand sanitizer in your dance bag.

  • Cloth face coverings are optional.

  • Our water fountain is closed. Dancers should bring their own water bottles.

  • We are carefully monitoring the situation. Our most important objective is the safety of our students and families, and to make sure we conduct business in a safe environment. We will make changes to these policies and procedures as more information and guidance becomes available.
