LITTLE CHARMERS

For toddlers to first graders

Little Charmers is our recreational program for dancers ages 18 months to 7 years.

Explore classes like Creative Movement, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop and more. End the Fall session with a Holidazzle performance, and end the Spring session with the Annual Recital!

When a child enrolls in a Little Charmers course, the dancer receives the Rainbow Ring with the logo and red charms to proudly hang on their dance bag. At the conclusion of each dance season, students receive a colored charm that represents the level of the finished course. If the child enrolls early enough, they can collect all six charms!

We love beginners!


Baby steps (18-30 months)

The perfect introduction for you and your little shadow to discover movement and music together.

Once-a-week, 30-minute classes are filled with inspiration and joy for little dancers, ages 18-30 months. A creative, fun program designed for you to enjoy your child as you encourage locomotor movement, music appreciation, and enrichment activities, all while meeting other parents with children your child's age.

Parents and dancers are invited to perform one routine in our Spring Recital.

Choose a class time that works for your family: Mondays 5:30-6p or Wednesdays 10-10:30a.

$44 plus tax per month.

Weedance (ages 2-3 years)

30-minutes of magic for toddlers ages 2-3 years in age. Discover music and movement through creative play, music narrative, rhythm builders, and tumbling basics. Fun, follow-along classics! Children develop necessary skills to become successful learners.

Our Weedance curriculum is designed to keep participants engaged and inspired, while shaping peer-friendly, respectful humans.

Students perform one routine in our Spring Recital.

$44 per month. Add Tumble Bugs for only $34 per month.

Class meets Mondays 5-5:30p.


Predance (ages 3-5 years)

A rhythm and coordination course for boys and girls, 3 to 5 years of age.

This forty-five minute class incorporates dance basics for motor development and music narratives for creativity. Ribbons, hoops, and other props are used to explore spatial awareness and develop attention.

Our Predance curriculum stimulates young dancers while fostering good manners and promoting healthy habits.

Participants perform two routines in our Spring Production. $49 per month. Add Tumble Tots for only $34 per month.

Tumble BUGS (Age 2-3) TUmble Tots (Age 3-5)

Thirty-minutes of physical activity developing elementary gymnastic skills in a fun-filled environment for the preschool aged child.

Tumble Bugs and Tumble Tots perform one routine each in our Spring Production. Participate in Tumble Bugs or Tumble Tots for $49 per month, or combine the class with Weedance or Predance for only $34. All acro classes are $5 extra to cover additional staff and equipment.

Tumble Bugs piggybacks with Weedance on Mondays 5:30-6p.

Tumble Tots piggybacks with Predance on Mondays 4:30-5p | Tuesdays 6:15-6:45p | Wednesdays 5:30-6p | Thursdays 6:45-7:15p.

MINIDance (GRADES K-1)

One of our finest programs at The Spotlight. This sixty-minute combo class is designed for beginners (grades K-1), with simple foot patterns to enhance concentration and role-playing to stimulate imagination.

Participants learn body placement and ballet terminology, plus gain a strong sense of tempo and musicality from tap basics.

Minidance students perform twice in our Spring Production. $54 per month. Enhance training with Acro, Mini Hip Hop, Mini Pom, and Beginner Clog. Add elective classes for $29 each per month.

To help busy families, we offer this class on Mondays 4-5p, Thursdays 5-6p and Fridays 4-5p in Corning (CHI Wellness Center). Our classes piggyback to heighten student development. Create a class schedule that best suits your family.


MINI SHOWSTOPPERS

We’ve combined two limelight genres to create sixty-minutes of musical theatre training in tap and jazz for beginners (grades K-1). An introduction to the characters and songs from popular musicals that inspire a lifelong love for the Silver screen and Broadway stage.

A beginner study in theatrical jazz, acting methods, classic rhythms, and auditioning skills.

Mini Showstopper students perform twice in our Spring Production. $54 per month. Enhance training with Acro, Mini Hip Hop, Mini Pom, and Beginner Clog. Add elective classes for $29 each per month.

Class meets on Wednesdays 4-5p and piggybacks with Mini/Petite Clog.


Electives for Little Charmers

Spotlight proudly offers training in multiple genres to instill a passion in the performing arts and create well rounded dancers. We have organized a convenient weekly schedule with classes that piggyback, providing parents with additional time for their own needs: meal prep, running errands, exercising, etc.

Select from the following Mini Electives to create a class schedule perfect for your family’s needs: acro, clog, hip hop, and pom.


ROYALS

For children in grades 2-12.

Royals is our recreational program for dancers ages 8-18.

Explore a variety of genres, such as: Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and more. End the season with our community raved Annual Recital!

When a child enrolls in a Royals course, the dancer receives the scepter charm on keyring to proudly hang on their dance bag. At the conclusion of each dance season, students receive a royal blue ring that represents the year of the finished course. If the child enrolls early enough, they can collect over ten rings!

Students begin their dance journey with us. We love to watch them grow and shine!


Core Study (Grades 2-12)

The Spotlight Core Program is for Royal dancers and Crown dancers ages 8-18 years.

Our most popular choice of training for boys and girls of our petite (grades 2-3), intermediate (grades 4-5), junior (grades 6-8), and senior (grades 9-12) levels.

Students polish ballet technique, tap rhythms, and jazz fundamentals, as well as develop strong performance skills, healthy habits, and team building. $64 per month. We offer a variety of styles for enhanced training.

Add elective classes for $29 each per month: Acro, Broadway, Clog, Contemporary, Dance Team, Heels, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Pointe, and TechX.

Core is required for all Royal and Crown dancers. Classes exempt from this rule are Acro, Clog, Hip Hop, and TechX.


Electives for Royals and Crown

Students are encouraged to enhance training by adding elective courses.

We conveniently schedule our elective courses in a "piggyback" fashion for each level of training. With busy families in mind, our schedule nurtures children and develops strong dancers.

Enhance training by adding Acro, Broadway, Clog, Contemporary, Dance Team, Heels, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Pointe, and TechEx. 

Elective classes may be combined with Core programs at $29 each per month. All acro classes are $5 extra to cover additional staff and equipment.

Core is required for all Royal and Crown dancers. Classes exempt from this rule are Acro, Clog, Hip Hop, and TechX.


Crown

A dedicated team of dancers who wish to excel technically and desire serious dance training.

Our Crown dancers participate in Project Dance activities, attend local dance competitions, perform in community exhibitions, and engage in philanthropic efforts.

Children channel confidence, self-respect, and purpose by partaking in Crown events.

Participation in our Royal Training summer program is required for Crown membership. Prospective Crown members should inquire with the program director at crown@spotlightx2.com or studio owner at dance@spotlightx2.com


STUDENT LEADERSHIP

For children who seek leadership skills.

The Spotlight proudly offers training in leadership development. We provide opportunities to practice mentorship and philanthropy through membership in our Student Leadership Team and National Honor Society for Dance Arts chapter.


STUDENT Leadership Team

Spotlight Student Ambassadors are members of our Student Leadership Team.

Maya Struhar is our Director of Student Leadership. Her monthly meetings inspire strong leadership skills and influence mature thinking. Participants are encouraged to set personal goals and foster self excellence in their lifestyle.

Members learn to motivate peers, manage a classroom, write lesson plans, speak publicly, and more. They develop skills in time management, accountability, goal setting, and self-satisfaction.

Membership dues are $15 per month. Classes are held on the third Sunday of each month, 5-6:30p. Guest speakers and field trips pop up throughout the season.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY FOR DANCE ARTS

The Spotlight is a proud a chapter in National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA). The Honor Society works to promote a desire for life-long learning in the field of dance. In addition, it encourages an understanding of, and an appreciation for dance as an art form while developing knowledgeable audiences for tomorrow.

Students in grades 6-12 may participate in NHSDA. The group promotes artistic merit, develops leadership skills, and encourages academic achievement.

Co-directors: Hallie Orr and Megan Pellman host NHSDA meetings on the first and third Mondays of the month, 8-8:30p.

Students who log over 30 hours in dance training and community volunteerism; plus earn honor roll status with a GPA of 3.5-4.0 may gain national recognition in the Honor Society.
